Fill a shallow saucepan with about 1.5 inches water. Warm up over low heat.
Melt the beeswax and coconut oil in a glass pint size mason jar (or similar sized glass jar) until liquid form.
Mix the Jojoba oil, Vitamin E oil, and any essential oils in a separate container. (You don't want to heat the essential oils or they lose their properties).
Remove glass jar from stove once melted.
Add the remaining ingredients and mix right away. (It doesn't take long for the beeswax and coconut oil to harden again - make sure your other ingredients are ready to go)!
OPTIONAL: Whip the oils for a minute or two using an electric beater. This gives the lotion a fluffier texture. If you decide not to whip, it'll be a little harder to remove lotion from the jar (I just use the back of my fingernail).
Pour lotion into a glass jar and let harden. (Essential oils can leach certain substances from plastic jars, so I always use a tinted glass jar with a lid).
Notes
I like to make this homemade face and body lotion in smaller batches (just under 2 oz.) so I can tweak ingredients if need be. This recipe lasts about 3.5 months if I use it twice a day on my face. The recipe can easily be doubled to make more!
